Ruthless Start to Poetry Month: Crocodiles at the Poetry Ruckus, Freak for All this week

Warning! The veracity of italicized statements is subject to the fact that today is April 1st!

We, the Ruthless Hippies, plan to kick off poetry month in style. Here are two great events we are putting on this week:

Monday April 2 – The Freak for All @ E-Street Cafe (128 W E Street Encinitas) 7-9 PM (the open mic for open minds: poetry, improv and music). C’mon out with your freaky self!

Special guests at the Freak for All will include Maya Angelou, Dylan Thomas, Jack Kerouac and the Cardiff Kook!

April 4 –  The Poetry Ruckus @ Ducky Waddle’s (414 N Coast hwy 101 Encinitas) doors open 7 PM, poetry starts 7:30 PM, guest goes on 9 PM

Featured guests at the Ruckus will be The Machine Gun Brothers: Brandon Welchez, Marco Gonalez and Charels Rowell. Machine Gun brothers is the name of the chap book these three members of San Diego rock band Crocodiles wrote together. Expect beautiful dark journeys to the subconscious. Don’t miss this one! RSVP to read by e-mailing ruthlesshippies (at) gmail.com

Other rock star poets scheduled to make appearances include Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Stevie Nicks.

The Crocodiles will be dropping a new album this Summer so we are way stoked they were able to take some time out from a busy touring schedule and join us at the Ruckus. Check out their sweet infomercial for the new release:
