New Farmer’s Market on the Block

North County food enthusiasts rejoice, for tonight is the opening night of the Downtown Encinitas Main Street Association’s new mid-week farmer’s market! The new Wednesday market will take place at Encinitas Station (Parking lot B 600 s Vulcan Ave, Corner of E and Vulcan) from 4-7pm October through April, then May through September from 5-8pm.

According to the DEMA website, the market will have no arts or crafts or prepared foods, but will instead ‘focus on specialty food items such as cheeses meats, honey breads and local gourmet organic produce’. As long there’s still lots of stroller pushing hotties, the Ruthless Hippies are cool with that.

And according to the Encinitas Patch, there will be no single use plastic bags, so BYO bag, bro.

The Ruthless Hippies applaud this effort which was led by DEMA program assistant Carris Rhodes, and in partnership with Whole Foods and North County Transit District.
