Saul Williams, Carlsbad Music Fest

Saul Williams is one of the most electrifying poet/musician/performers we have ever seen. And great news for San Diego fans who happen to enjoy his spoken word performances more than his rock/hip hop shows, Saul will be spitting verse TONIGHT at the San Diego Woman’s Club (2557 3rd Ave San Diego). Opening up for Saul will be one of our favorite local poets and long time Ruckus supporter, Ted Washington Click here for tickets.

Dig this clip of Saul to give you an idea…

Starting tonight and continuing all weekend, is the Carlsbad Music Festival: Adventurous Music by the Beach. This event has an amazing line up of insanely talented musicians.

Ruthless recommended shows include Trouble in the Wind playing twice tonight (6:30PM at Spin Records and 8:30PM at Boxd ), Mattson 2 playing for FREE at Magee Park 4 PM on Saturday, Wu Man and Friends at Carlsbad Village Theater 7PM on Saturday ($20) and Calder Quartet at Carlsbad Village Theater on Sunday 2:30 PM ($20). Click here for full schedule.

And in case you didn’t know, Wu Man is neither a man, nor a member of the Wu-Tang Clan. She is a world class Chinese pipa player.
