Folkin ‘Eh: Steep Ravine, Second Cousins & Cleopatra Degher live at the Duck

Steep Ravine2

Party @ the Duck (Ducky Waddle’s Emporium 414 N Coast Hwy 101) with us 10/19, doors at 6:30 and show starts 7PM.

It’s just some bad ass young musicians bringing fresh sounds to folk music:

Steep Ravine

Steep Ravine’s sound conjures up an authentic slice of Northern California spirit, combining the energy and drive of bluegrass with the heart and soul of folk and roots music. The band features the string-playing ingenuity of guitarist Simon Linsteadt, violinist Jan Purat, mandolinist Andy O’Brien, and upright bassist Alex Bice.

Second Cousins

And Second Cousins is an amazing folk pop group from Encinitas that rocked out at Lou’s Records at Summer Fun this year. Folk-inspired songs reinvented through the textures of our times; Second Cousins brings closely relatable songwriting into a less familiar realm. Second Cousins is Tim McStallion (horseback riding), Baustin Urns (east-coast cremation), Dillon Casey & the Sunshine Band (Disco Grooves), Capt. Kirk Portuguez (Space Travel)

Cleopatra Degher

On the live music front, this talented young folkie has been building a following through her many performances around Southern California, including Genghis Cohen in Hollywood, the San Diego House of Blues, Coachella Wildflower Festival, Oceanside Days of Art, Ramona Country Fair, and even “Record Store Day” at her favorite record store, Lou’s Records in Encinitas.

Free show, but please donate $5 or whatever is feasible for you to help out the musicians and Ducky Waddle’s.
