You know him. You love him. He’s Ed Coonce. His poetry and verse have been known to induce laughter, tears, confusion and even PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE!!! This true American hero might be retired, but he’s running on all cylinders with his creative pursuits. Ed hosts a lively writer’s group called East Hell Writers every Tuesday at his home in Encinitas. He creates fine mixed media art pieces in his garage–like the one pictured above (Angry Brain # 7 Meets Miley). Ed produces and performs stage productions with Theater Arts West out in Temecula. And somehow, with all of that going on, the guy manages to write new stuff on the daily and barley ever misses a poetry event in North County San Diego. Ed Coonce is clearly a powerhouse and he’s a big part of what’s made the Poetry Ruckus a thriving event over the last four years. That’s why we’re proud to have him guest at our 4th anniversary Halloween Costume Ruckus.
Doors are at 7 PM, open poetry starts 7:30 and Ed Coonce will perform around 9 PM. As always, the event is FREE, but we like when people throw down some donations and buy stuff from Ducky Waddle’s (414 N Coast hwy 101). We will have some limited edition prints of Stephen Di Padova’s epic poster art available for sale.
Please get into it and arrive in costume–you know Ed will!
