Food for Thought with Mario DeMatteo & more!

For the second year in a row, the poets will be taking over Roadside Park for this Thursday’s (4/3/14) Food for Thought / Taste of Leucadia. This humble little park rests on the corner of the highway 101 and Leucadia Blvd and provides the perfect little poetry corner where the literary minded can fill up on rhymes, metaphors and verbiage in the open air.

Our favorite revolutionary farmer, Mario DeMatteo, will be the featured poet of the evening. When he’s not out back in the garden pulling weeds and battling gophers and raccoons like Bill Murray in Caddy Shack, Mario can be found spittin’ prose flavored gems at Glassless Minds, the Ruckus and in the final rounds of the Full Moon Poetry  Slam. So c’mon out and read or just listen. Open poetry starts at 5:30 PM and Mario will take the stage around 7.

This poetry event is part of a larger event called Taste of Leucadia: Food for Thought. There will be over 15 restaurants and ten breweries/wineries giving samples along the highway 101 in Leucadia from 5:30PM-8:30PM. Food tickets are still only $20 and $10 extra for the sip stops (must be 21+ with ID and check in to L101 Main Office). Buy em HERE or pay more the day of the event.
