Fresh off his US tour performing with Ruban Nielson (Unknown Mortal Orchestra), Jared Mattson is playing a free home town show at Breakers Cafe Encinitas on Saturday August 8th, 2026 starting at 7 PM. Jared will be wailing with his fantastic Bay Area based band including Samuel Gonzalez on drums, Brian Juarez on bass and Chili Corder on “whammycore” guitar. Chili Corder’s F.MPH band will bring jazzy wildness while local openers McLean / Tousseau will rock the opening slot with an improvisation heavy hammond organ/drum set. We’ll have specials from sponsors/local music patrons Mezo (mezcal cocktails) and Rationale Brewing (Non-aloholic beers).

Our friends at @kenosmerch will be popping up to sell Cap’n Keno’s officially licensed gear–the only Keno’s gear authorized by Cap’n Keno’s founder Gerry Sova. Also, @old_school_records will be on hand slanging vinyl records. Bring some cash to treat yourself with one of these radical local vendors and please drop a donation to support the musicians.
